When I bought my MacBook, I installed Windows Vista on BootCamp utility right away, because I needed to run Windows-only applications on my new Mac. I used Bootcamp for about three weeks, but had a lot of problems with integration and migration:
- I couldn’t completely switch to my MacBook, because a lot of programs and information were still on my PC - I needed to restart system every time to switch from Windows to Mac OS - The information I had in the Bootcamp partition was not easy to use in MacOS And I decided to migrate both from my BootCamp partition and PC to virtual machine. Among the virtualization software for Mac I chose Parallels Desktop for Mac and VMWare Fusion. Here is a small review I did after downloading and trying softwares. First of all, I cannot migrate from my Bootcamp partition to virtual machine with VMWare Fusion at all. Fusion doesn’t allow me to do this. Parallels has the bundled tool called Parallels Transporter to migrate from Bootcamp. The process ended very quickly and I was able to use my Windows and Mac OS simultaneously. While migrating from my PC both programs showed good results. Theycreated virtual machine that was the full copy of my PC. VMWare showed to be a suitable virtualization solution but not excellent one while Parallels Desktop gave me an opportunity to take the best of both worlds at the same time! I choose Parallels. |
