On May 30, 2007 Apple started their launch of iTunes Plus DRM-free music tracks. iTunes Plus features high quality 256 kbps AAC encoding, which is virtually indistinguishable from the original recordings.

Now, iTunes Plus maintains one of the largest DRM-Free Catalog in the World, consisting of more than
two million songs. And, they recently lowered the price for iTunes Plus songs to .99 per track. Some of the benefits of iTunes Plus are the higher quality recordings and the ability to play iTunes Plus music on any iPod or other digital music player, and an unlimited number of computers.

You can easily upgrade your existing library to iTunes Plus tracks, but there is a catch. All tracks purchased from iTunes must be upgraded at once, and there is an additional cost of .30 cents for track. Upgraded files will replace the originals, and you will have an opportunity to delete the originals or move them to your desktop.

Also, you may be required to upgrade your iTunes version (45Meg download). Check iTunes for all the details.

All-in-All, you should definitely notice the higher quality iTunes Plus tracks and enjoy the flexibility of no usage restrictions.

You can find more information on iTunes Plus from the iTunes QUICK LINKS Menu.
