BJC recently shifted to use of a Content Management System on our web site. This is a major change from "normal" site design because it is more driven toward managing content.  It is now easier than ever to create new content items and post them to appropriate areas of the web site. We also spend much less time designing and maintaining a single page or pages. Using CMS, we just create the content and tell the CMS where to post!  How easy is that??!!

There are numerous types of CMS software availible.  We are currently using Joomla! as our CMS. This software is open source, and very well supported using the online discussion forums.  There are numerous plug-in items which give various additional capabilities to the web site. Forum software, database connections, can all be plugged into the CMS to add additional functionality!
