Web Site (and web page) Design consists of far more than just how your site looks when viewed from a web browser!  In many cases, you may want to build a  mailing list to advise users of new or updated information.  You may want to sell products online, which may require a database of products or shopping cart capability. Of course, you also may want your visitors to be able to make purchases or payments online!

It's important to analyze your web site requirements BEFORE building your web site.  If you wait until after the site is established, it could result in a messy redesign effort down-the-road in order to add important capabilities! 

If you prefer to design the web site yourself, there are software packages available which can assist you in creating web pages and managing the overall web site design.  One excellent product is Microsoft's FrontPage software.  It allows you to access your web site remotely and easily update all your web pages.  I use FrontPage software to keep this site up-to-date!
